Deputy Director: Communications
All inclusive salary package: R 422 046 per annum
A vacancy exists within the Directorate: Strategic Support for a person who will co-develop and implement SAQA's communications strategy and provide operational leadership in the communications function of the directorate.
Eligible candidates will have:
• A Bachelor's Degree in corporate communications/marketing - NQF 7.
• A recognised and relevant postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 9, will be an added advantage
• Ten years related working experience with three of which should be in leading/managing communications/marketing operations
• Extensive knowledge and a successful track record in managing public relations, corporate branding, marketing and communications
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong customer focus, quality service delivery and attention to detail
• The ability to work in teams, manage multiple projects and function across organisations
• Computer literacy is a prerequisite.
Knowledge of the South African education and training system and legislation will be an added advantage.
The main duties of this position include:
• Providing strategic support and operational leadership in the communications and advocacy functions
• Managing and coordinating SAQA and the NQF media and public events programmes
• Providing effective communications services and coordinating the communications initiatives within SAQA
• Optimising the utilisation of all media and forums to provide proactive and reactive stances as required to advance SAQA's objectives
• Managing resources such as human, financial, equipment and materials
The successful candidate will qualify for a 13th cheque, housing, medical aid, and pension allowance included in the total package.
