Deputy Director: Business Analysis
All inclusive salary package: R 422 046 per annum

A vacancy exists within the Directorate: Foreign Qualifications and Evaluation Advisory Services (DFQEAS) for a person who will scrutinise the business environment of the directorate and analyse findings in collaboration with the Director to take advantage of opportunities, respond to environmental threats, inform long term planning and enable decision-making regarding business needs, requirements and solutions.
Eligible candidates will have a recognised postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 9, related to Business Analysis, as well as at least five years of management experience in an economic / education / research related business environment. In addition to a strong analytical and conceptual ability, the necessary skill to communicate professionally and formulate and clarify concepts, above average proficiency in English, negotiation, administrative and reporting skills, a thorough understanding of stakeholder analysis and business process modelling and some knowledge of information technology is required. Furthermore the ability to manage customer relations and organisational change, a methodical disposition, integrity and a business oriented vision should be among the strengths of those aspiring for appointment. Computer literacy is a prerequisite.
The main duties of this position are to:
• Set up a formal scanning system to facilitate a continuing process for the monitoring of change and review this from time to time to ensure ongoing relevance
• Systematically gather information about the external environment to identify changing trends and patterns
• In collaboration with the Director, analyse information and monitor identified trends and patterns
• Establish best business analysis practice
• Review current operational business processes and systems to get a clear understanding thereof
• Analyse business information
• Document requirements and crystallise concepts and business needs / opportunities identified at high-level into draft business cases for submission
• Co-develop, implement and maintain the strategic, risk management and operational plans and budget for the directorate in collaboration with the Director
• Make information gained through business analysis and environmental scanning available in the planning and review processes to enhance the quality of plans and the likelihood of achievement.
The successful candidate will qualify for a 13th cheque, housing, medical aid, and pension allowance included in the total package. SAQA reserves the right to verify credit and criminal records, as well as qualifications.
