Announcing the Cape Town Science Centre
in its new home in Observatory
The Cape Town Science Centre is a non-profit organisation, and was first established in 2001 (then called the MTN Sciencentre at Canal Walk shopping mall). It has always sought to be a place to encourage the public understanding of science and support the formal school system in maths and science education.
Well known for its hands-on exhibits and people-centered activities, the Cape Town Science Centre experience includes
During its 10-years of operation, it has reached more than 3.5 million visitors, through visits to the centre and with outreach projects across the Western Cape, South Africa and as far away as Namibia.
The Observatory-based venue is fresh and exciting and is set to become a hub of educational opportunities.Organisations such as Career Planet, SA Teen Entrepreneur, Living Maths, Sound House and Kiddiwinks are now all based in the Cape Town Science Centre.
