Dear Petra
There are a number of different ways to become a teacher:
University of Technology: BEd degree in any of the following areas:
• Foundation Phase: Grade R-3)
• Intermediate Phase (Grade 4-6)
• Senior Phase (Grade 7 – 9)
• FET (Grades 10-12)
University: Complete a degree (BA, BSocSci, BSc, BCom) with appropriate subjects for teaching (we suggest you contact the university you want to study at to determine what subjects they require). Then complete a Post-graduate Certificate in Education from a University of Technology or University.
