Dear Al-Girvan

To become a radiographer requires at least a National Diploma from a university of technology. In the Western Cape  the Cape Peninsular University of Technology offers a national diploma followed by a BTech degree in radiography. You can contact them directly on   health@cput.ac.za or explore the following web pages to get an idea of the different types of radiography (the first year is the same for all the national diplomas radiography, from the second year you choose your specialities):

The minimum admission requirements according to their prospectus page 18 (http://info.cput.ac.za/prospectus_3/CPUT%20Admission%20Requirements%202010.pdf)  are as follows:

• Home Language 4
• First Additional Language 3
• English must be one of your languages
• Mathematics 4
• Life Sciences or Physical Sciences 4

If you results do not meet the minimum requirements we suggest you contact the Health and Welfare Sciences Faculty (health@cput.ac.za) directly to see if you qualify for the extended curriculum program.

Application for admission may be found in their prospectus on page 11 (http://info.cput.ac.za/prospectus_3/CPUT%20Admission%20Requirements%202010.pdf) . According to this page closing date for applications is 31 August. However, your application should be submitted as early as possible.

Geomatics is a BSc degree course offered by the University of Cape Town. Explore the Guideline for admission to UCT in 2011 (http://www.uct.ac.za/downloads/uct.ac.za/apply/apps/undergrad/uctadmis_guidelines_2011.pdf). The minimum requirement is a 5 (preferably a 6) for mathematics and physical sciences and a minimum of 30 points for your admission point score.
