We have been advised that schools have all the necessary forms and information about how to go about registering as a private candidate. We therefore suggest you contact the school where your son wrote his exams. The examinations are in November 2010. You could also contact private colleges like Damelin, Abbots College or Intec College to see if they can help you with private candidate registration and suitable courses. The provincial departments of education may also be contacted for information and forms:

We suggest you contact the higher education institution your son is considering studying at, to see if either the IEB or NSC is better suited to their entrance requirements.

Depending on your son’s results he could also consider the courses offered by universities of technology or public further education and training colleges.
