If your daughter wants to study linguistics she will need to complete a BA degree at a University, majoring in Linguistics (the study of language). This may be found in the Faculty of Humanities, Department if English Language and Literature (http://web.uct.ac.za/depts/english/engstud.htm). We suggest she also explores the many courses offered by the Faculty of Humanities for inspiration about possible careers and other areas of study.
