Dear Ntsako
Do not despair there is a way. Complete your matric with the best possible marks you can get. Try to aim for at least 60% for all your subjects, including languages.
Then you should consider enrolling at a Further Education and Training College and complete a National Certificate (Vocational): Electrical Infrastructure & Construction. For more information consult the Northlink College and College of Cape Town NCV web pages (or your local College):
After completing the NCV, you may apply for a learnerships or an apprenticeship with an organization such as Eskom, or apply to a University of Technology (for example, http://info.cput.ac.za/prospectus/) for admission into a National Diploma: Electrical Engineering course.
However, it is important to obtain more than 60% for all your NCV subjects. Competition is tough; the higher your marks the better your chances of success.
We wish you all the best in your future career in Electrical Engineering: Heavy Current (power generation and distribution); this is a career with high potential.
