Your son needs to make sure he chooses subjects that meet the requirements for a national senior certificate with a higher education endorsement for a national diploma and B degree. If his subjects include mathematics (required) and information technology (recommended) he may apply for a:
• BSc Information Technology degree with a computer gaming focus at a University
• BA degree in gaming design from a private higher education institution
• National Diploma Information Technology (University of Technology).

Other subjects to consider include:
• If he is artistically inclined, then visual arts will also be helpful
• If he is scientifically inclined physical science should be considered
• If your son is not a mathematics person, then he may take mathematical literacy, however this will limit his post school learning options to some private higher education institutions and university of technology qualifications.
