Unfortunately, mathematics is required for a BCom degree; which is the first step in the journey to becoming an accountant. However, if you are prepared to look at different career paths in accounting you may find something you’d enjoy. You are also working, which in today’s economic climate is wonderful – especially with such a prestigious firm. Well done! Hang on to that job!
So taking into account your situation, have you through about looking at distance learning through UNISA. This will allow you to continue to work at your current job, which provides your with excellent work experience, while you study in the evenings and over part of your weekend.
Start by looking at the different admission options you have; in particular look at the National Diploma admission requirements:

Once you have completed a National Diploma you may apply for membership of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (http://www.unisa.ac.za/Default.asp?Cmd=ViewContent&ContentID=20355). After a National Diploma consider completing a BTech degree in taxation or internal auditing and then register with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (http://www.unisa.ac.za/Default.asp?Cmd=ViewContent&ContentID=20351)
