Physical Science is required for architecture studies by some universities (University of Pretoria) and not by others (University of Cape Town; recommended as a subject) - so we suggest your son needs to explore the entry requirements for the university he wants to attend. Your son will also need to produce a portfolio of creative work, so it is essential that he looks at the universities who offer architecture to see what he needs to prepare for his portfolio.
He may also consider a National Diploma in Architectural Technology which does not required Physical Science, however he will then be able to register as an architectural technician.
