Dear Asheeqah
Thank you for your question regarding a career in archaeology. If you are very interested in archaeology you are likely to make a good career from it. Career satisfaction is as important as feeling financially secure.
If you completed a BA specialising in Archaeology, you could take other subjects like geography, history, anthropology, psychology, philosophy, sociology and criminology. You would then draw your second major from these subjects. This basic degree needs to be followed by a honours and masters degrees. Possibly even a PhD.
If you major in archaeology with anthropology the following employment opportunities need to be explored:
If you have an interest in geography you could also explore qualifications leading to a career as a Geographer or Town and Regional Planner. Both these career areas require very similar interests to those required for archaeology.
We hope this information will help you to make up your mind about your future career direction.
