With the expansion of farming in South Africa into Game or Wildlife it is important that these farmers have access to trained Veterinary Surgeons. This career has become more in demand over the past years and will continue to do so.
As a Wildlife Veterinary Surgeon you will carry out the following:
- Importing and Exporting of Wild animals
- Carry out clinical work on wildlife
- Be involved in the management of breeding projects
- Rehabilitation of injured or imported Animal
- Game captures, relocations and introductions
- Contractual research
- Specialized procedures such as airlifting
- Disease investigation, control and research
