Most of us have some idea about what a welder does; you could probably imagine someone making a metal gate by welding metal poles together - or a person making burglar bars or fixing a hole in a car's exhaust pipe. Well you would be right...but it is also much more than that!
Welders are a very important part of the building and construction industries. They are the people who join metal beams together to make the frames for big factories, shopping centres and office blocks.

If you want to work as a qualified welder you will have to study at a recognised training centre and recieve a certificate. This is because people's lives may depend on the quality of your welding
