Truck Mechanic
Truck mechanics repair and maintain electric, diesel, gasoline and industrial trucks. Need to have knowledge of electrical, power transmission, brake and other automotive systems.
Duties:
- Detect faults and dismantle engines or other parts that need attention.
- They read job orders and test-drive the vehicle in question to figure out where the malfunction lies.
- Rebuild engines and other major components.
- Service heavy automotive equipment and repair or replace any faulty parts.
- Test-drive vehicles, make adjustments and may carry out road worthy checks.
- Attend to breakdowns and assist truck drivers in emergencies.
