Does a career in the sporting world interest you but you would prefer to be behind the scenes. Why not consider a career as a Sports Agent?
The main functions of a Sports Agent is to recruit sportsmen and women and be responsible for negotiating their contracts.
The Sports Agent ensures that all his sportsmen/women have regular game time with the Clubs they are contracted too and that both parties uphold their contracted duties.
The Sports Agent is also responsible for finding sponsorship from Sport Gear or Energy drink companies. This ensures that sport clothing is sponsored and there is the possibility of earning extra financial gain.
Agents can be employed by sports clubs, sports teams or be self-employed and work for the sportsmen/women on their books.
There is not specific qualification required for this career however a sports management qualification might be beneficial.
