As a Sports Psychologist you would provide consultancy services to various sport athletes, parents and coaches. You could also work with athletes assisting them with their performance, promoting their health, both physically and psychologically.
They help athletes enhance their performance on the field using psychological principals as well as making the athlete understand how their participation in sport, exercise and physical activities affects their psychological development, health and well -being throughout their life.
Sport Psychologists can fulfil two roles – academic and applied:
They assist athletes with performance enhancement and clinical issues and provide workshops for coaches as well as rendering consulting services to team players. The sport psychology career field is highly competitive both in the academic and applied fields.
