A Ship's Carpenter is a wood-working carpenter who has specialised in carpentry for ships and boats. These carpenters can do high quality cabinet making and/or structural woodwork. Most of the work is done when the vessel is on land [in a factory] or in the dry-dock but some of the work is also at sea. Sometimes the carpenters have to work in very small spaces. They can be involved in work for new vessels and/or the alteration and repairs on existing vessels
