As a Primary School Teacher you will be imparting knowledge to young learners giving them the basic concepts of mathematics, languages and sciences. It is the responsibility of the Primary School Teacher to pave the way forward encouraging young learners to enjoy the learning phase of their lives.
The curriculum is prescribed by the Education Department and it is the Teacher/Educator who prepares the lessons according to the curriculum.
Part of the teachers job is to help with extra-curricular activities such as sports, concerts, operettas, teas, film shows and fund-raising activities.
There is also a certain amount of administrative work involved such as attendance registers, school reports on each learner's progress.
A Teacher's job is varied and can involve a certain amount of creativity but does often involve long hours, and rigid adherence to routine and regulations.
