Motor Mechanic
Motor mechanics determine and repair broken-down and damaged motor vehicles. They determine the cause of the problem, prepare cost-estimates on repairs (in small shops) or have other workers perform this duty (in larger shops or dealerships).
Tasks:
- Remove broken or damaged parts, order new parts, repair or replace broken or damaged parts, and put the vehicle back together in good working condition.
- Adjust brakes, tighten body bolts, align wheels, and perform routine services to prevent motor vehicle problems.
