A medical physicist works towards treating diseases and improving health care, by applying physics to medicine.
Many medical physicists are part of multi-disciplinary disease research teams, helping to develop and improve medical technology (usually radiation) for diagnosing and treating diseases.
Although a career in medical physics is demanding and sometimes frustrating, the rewards are improving and saving people's lives. Some medical physicists also give training on physics to medical students and hospital staff.
