As a technician you will be involved in the following areas:
- in design, production or maintenance planning offices
- on site as a member of the construction team or in laboratories to ensure quality control
- in manufacturing plants or in research and development laboratories
- by gathering information about processes involved in a factory
- by developing and implementing improvements that will increase productivity
In order to qualify as a Mechanical Engineering Technician you will need to complete a National Diploma in Engineering from a recognised institution and then complete 2 years practical training in the industry.
