Companies employ Advertising Managers to work in their marketing departments in order to publicise their goods or services. The Advertising Manager is involved with tasks such as:
Advertising managers work closely with the marketing staff in order to identify target markets, marketing goals and to assist in the setting of budgets involved with ad campaigns.
The main goal of an advertising manager is to find the most effective ways of informing customers about their products and services.
If the company also uses an advertsing agency, the Advertising Manager will brief the agency (tell them what is required) and will be involved during the ad production phase. The Advertsining manager must sign-off final advertising campaigns before they go live.
