It is the responsibility of the Labour Relations Officer to advise and negotiate on behalf of both Management and Employees of Companies.
Labour Relations Officers also counsel employees on matters relating to employment, retrenchment, disciplinary hearings and appeal hearings at the CCMA, Bargaining councils or private arbitration. When and if necessary, they attend hearings that might end up in the labour courts.
Labour Relations Officers are very involved in the co-ordination of settlements and negotiations between employer and employees during Strikes and with wage negotiatiions.
Labour Relations Officers can either work as part of a management team or on a contractual basis.
