Insurance Agent
Insurance agents sell policies to individuals and businesses to provide protection against future looses and/ or financial pressures.
Duties include:
- analysing the needs of their clients and help them plan protection for items/ incidents such as vehicle(s), home, business, real estate, family income in the event of death of breadwinner, hospital and medical costs
- helping their clients to obtain claim settlements
- providing follow-up services to help keep their clients’ insurance programs up-to-date
- advising clients, and informing them of amendments to existing policies
Companies to work for:
Insurance agents may be employed by one company or be independent agents authorised to represent one or more companies
