Are you good at managing people? Do you enjoy working with customers? Do you have an interest in the hospitality industry? Are you always organized? Do you have an eye for the details? Then becoming a hotel manager may be a good career for you.
As a hotel manager you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that everything is running smoothly in the hotel
- Managing employees
- Dealing with customer complaints
- Coordinating front office operations
- Managing some of the financial logistics
In this job you must be comfortable performing simple administrative tasks and with using a desktop computer. People who do well in a career as a hotel manager are usually good at dealing with stress, have good time management skills, and are excellent at decision-making. This job requires you to have some vocational training in Hotel Management or Hospitality. In the Western Cape there are two schools that offer extensive training programs in Hotel Management they are The International Hotel School and The Private Hotel School.
