Hotel Housekeeping
Housekeeping is ahands on career that will require you do maintain the fundamental upkeep of the hotel in which you work. As a housekeeper your responsibilities will include:
- Operate a cart with linens, towels and cleaning supplies.
- Clean hotel rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas
- Make beds
- Refill hotel room supplies
- Vacuum hotel rooms
- Dust and polish furniture and room decorations
- Clean bathrooms and empty garbage cans
- Wash windows and mirrors
If you choose a career in housekeeping you must have integrity, have an excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently.
Generally housekeeper training is in house however there is a course offered by The International Hotel School with a specialization in housekeeping. This course is intended to teach five star service which includes creativity and time saving techniques.
