Hospitality Entrepreneur
Hospitality entrepreneurs are responsible for the day-to-day running of guest houses, bed and breakfast establishments, catering services or home industries.
Their responsibilities include:
· The planning, organising and control of the operation.
· Hiring and training new staff and handle complaints and requests from guests or clients.
· Ensuring that the correct records are kept, budgets planned, accounts dealt with, bookings taken and confirmed and rooms allocated or catering bookings completed.
· Overseeing the staff and ensuring all duties are carried out, including cleaning, washing, kitchen duties, laundry and garden upkeep.
· Ordering of all food stuffs required for catering as well as toiletries required for the guest rooms.
· Planning the menus and ensure that all food prepared is fresh and presentable.
· Assisting clients with vehicle hire or transportation if required.
· Ensuring that supplies are adequate, crockery and cutlery is clean and linen is laundered.
Many hospitality entrepreneurs are self-employed.
