Horticulturists enjoy beautifying cities, towns or suburbs!
There are 4 different spheres in horticulture.
· Parks and decorative – involved in the layout and cultivation of plants and landscapes, parks and public gardens
· Commercial – where plants and seeds are produced and sold for marketing
· Supplementary products – researchers, advisors and salesman of chemicals, fertilisers and horticultural elements
· Research – develop and improve plant varieties. As well as cultivating plant varieties (hybrids)
Where they work:
Horticulturists in research institutes, production farms, nurseries, parks and botanical gardens as well as in laboratories

National Diploma: English, Mathematics / Mathematics Literacy; one of the following: Physical Science, Life Science and two of the following: Life Science, Physical Science, Accounting, Agriculture Science, Business, Economics, Engineering graphics and design, Information Technology, Visual Arts
