Are you well co-ordinated and enjoy flying? Are you passionate about helicopters and can see yourself talking visitors to SA for flips over the city? Why not consider a career as a Helicopter Pilot
Although it requires a certain amount of co-ordination, almost anyone can learn to fly a helicopter. You need no formal qualifications or flying experience.
Due to the responsibility involved in flying, the minimum requirements for the course are:
• 17 years of age
• An aviation medical (which requires a reasonable level of fitness)
• 50 hours minimum flying time (including 15 hours of solo time)
• A restricted radio licence
• Written ppl exams
It is important to contact a flying school in order to understand the flying requirements i.e. the amount of air flying time is required before becoming a qualified helicopter pilot.
