Considering a career in Event Co-ordination might be what you are looking for?
Co-ordinating fuctions from banquets to fundraising events and weddings to fashion shows, event co-ordinators are the hub of the event. Responsibilities involved with this career are vast and include:
- liaison with prospective clients
- understanding client needs
- discussing menus with Chefs or caterers
- hiring of casual staff to ensure the smooth running of the event on the day
- arranging and hiring equipment and finding suitable venues
Event Management is both challenging and exciting offering a variety of work. It does however have drawbacks such as long and irregular working hours which include weekends and evenings. The ability to cope with more than one event/function on a day. Event Management can be exhausting and physically demanding.
