An economic consultant is a qualified who provides professional advice or services to any client regarding factors that influence their well-being, and aim to find solutions to improve the client’s standard of living.
What they do:
· They collect information on the economy, study and analyse the information, write reports and give presentations to the client.
· They also study and explain economic events, and make predications about the economy.
· They spend a great deal of their time consulting for business and governments.
Economic consultants need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of economic methods and theories. They need to be up to date on issues such as economic, social and technological developments, and political and current affairs. Economic consultants are knowledgeable on statistics, human behaviour and economic trends. It is also important for them to have strong financial capabilities.
