Computer-aided design (CAD) technicians create detailed design drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The drawing are high resolution (the degree of detail visible in an image or photograph), easy to correct, and can be shifted and rotated to any desired viewpoint. Parts of the drawing can be shown in 3 dimensions, and notes can be attached to these drawings. CAD software is used to enable the technician to visualise the structure and function, as well as showing what colour and texture can be used to fill the shape. They can also specialise in specific areas of design, such as mechanical engineering, architecture, electronics, automotive and even fashion design.
