Clinical Biochemist
Clinical biochemists diagnose changes in the composition of blood and other bodily fluids linked to diseases by performing tests with highly advanced and sophisticated equipment.
They test samples from patients, interpret the identified data and advise doctors or specialists if further testing is required. They also research, develop and investigate new methods of diagnosing and treatment.
They may also head up a department, become involved in lecturing at educational institutions.
This discipline intertwines with other disciplines such as medicine, analytical chemistry, physiology, pharmacology, forensic science and molecular biology.
