When working with children it is important to have the necessary expertise in order to know how to approach them so as to be able to counsel them and help them recover from the psychological damage they’ve been subjected to.
It is often necesary for a Child Psychologist to represent their findings In court cases where children have been victims or witnesses of crime. They will also interview the children to get evidence from them to help solve the case and convict the criminals.
They often use unorthodox methods to get the children to relax and open up to them, which may be vastly different to the treatment of adults.
