Chief Executive Officer
The Chief Executive Officer or CEO must decide and plan the way a company or organisation will work. The CEO must lead the company with help from the other managers.
A CEO is like the president of a country because they lead the way and provide the company or organisation they work for with the policies [or plan] they have and give the direction they want to go in.
The CEO is helped by a Board of Directors or governing body which is made up up the people in charge of the different areas of the company. Together they work at the very top of the company and then all the other employees work to carry out the CEO's plan.
A CEO needs to understand a lot about all the different parts of a business in order to make the best decisions and must know how to manage and lead people.This is a Job for someone who has a lot of experience in the type of business they are in and be confident to lead others. This is not a job where you start your career but rather where you would plan be be one day.
The CEO will:

Study the way the business works

Study how well the business is doing

Look to see if the staff are performing well and if they are meeting the company's objectives

Work out where the business can save money, change the way they are working and how to improve what they are doing

Prepare budgets for approval
- Negotiate or approve contracts and agreements with suppliers, distributors, government departments, unions and other organisations.
- Appoint department heads or managers and give them their responsibilities.
