Chemical Technologist
Chemical technologists invent, design, operate and control a range of industrial processes. They set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests and research on raw materials. They also design, develop, operate and maintain equipment in laboratories.
Chemical technologists may specialise or work in varying industries such as:
· designing and implementing programmes for quality control of chemicals and processes and workplace health and safety
· monitoring the environment, inspecting processes and testing samples of air, soil and water to develop more environmentally-friendly processes and recommend controls and regulations
· the medical industry where they label tubes for processing samples and collecting, preparing and processing samples
· in administration which takes the form of compiling accurate and concise data, records and reports on results of experiments and research
· educational institutions as a lecture
