Chefs are mainly responsible for maintaining the reputation of a restaurant or catering company. They create the dishes that are served and are responsible for the smooth running and hygiene of the kitchen. Chefs work in hotels, independent restaurants, on ships, in aeroplanes, on film locations, in catering companies and many more interesting places.
There are many areas that a Chef will cover in training, such as:
Some restaurants offer a varied menu while others offer fast foods such as hamburgers and other food that can be prepared in advance. Chefs are responsible for preparing meals that are pleasing to look at as well as to eat. They are the most highly skilled and trained of all kitchen workers. They prepare a wide variety of meals. They are often responsible for other kitchen staff, the ordering of food supplies and the estimation of food requirements.
