Becoming a Chartered Secretary calls for a person who can communicate with any type of person and on any level. For someone who is familiar with company law and various aspects of labour law including employment conditions.
They need to have a technical background on - for instance - computer systems. They must be familiar with manufacturing regulations and could be expected to give advice on matters such as planning, purchasing, staff, controling or reports.
Chartered secretaries can work for any size company, with the main objective of ensuring that the company operates in the most economically viable, cost-effective and productive way. They become members of the Institution of Chartered Secretaris and Administrators and must observe the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical behaviour in all their acrivities.
