What does this mean? Well... an economy is made up of all the businesses, organisations [private and government] that produce goods, products and services that we buy, sell or use. This means everything from Apples to Electricity, farming to mining, tourism to sports to water treatment and so on.
The Business Economist studies the economy of a country and /or world economies to see how changes in one area will affect another. An example would be to study how the increase in the oil price will affect the prices of public transport, food and services. They then make reports so that we can all understand what is going on in our economy. They can also then make recommendations on how to make the economy work better.
The Business Economists advise organisations [such as the Government, Insurance companies, mining companies, airlines, Investment companies, transport businesses, etc.], banks, industrial businesses and trade associations, unions and agencies.
