Brand Manager
The aim of brand manager is to get people to buy their products and to increase people’s loyalty to a particular brand or product. To achieve this, brand managers:
· Analyse trends and consumers’ needs in the marketplace.
· Plan, develop and market products to meet the consumer’s needs.
· Create awareness of their product through launches and advertising campaigns
Brand managers may have to change their marketing strategies and plans if they do not get the desired result from the marketplace. They therefore, also work closely with marketing agencies, sales teams and team members regarding the marketing strategies for their products.
Other duties:
· Handle all public relations activities such as discounts to promote their products.
· Manage and oversee various projects relating to the products they market.
· They oversee staff that performs functions such as production, sales, promotions, advertising, marketing, marketing research, research and development, purchasing, distribution and packaging design and development.
They need to be continually aware of their competitors and the products they produce. At times they may even have their own products that compete against each other. Each product is handled as a separate company and produced and marketed accordingly.
