Biophysicist
Biophysics is the study of living things, which makes use of the methods and tools of physics to monitor the environment, to ensure the more efficient working of engines, to launch satellites into space, to construct computers, etc. The field of biophysics includes the processes of information transmission, the structure and properties of materials, and energy conversion.
What they do:
· study the behaviour of the brain, blood pressure, the muscular system and movements and organ functions
· examine certain factors that affect living beings, eg sound, light, radiation and temperature
· use and often maintain a range of equipment eg lasers and computer axial tomography (CAT) scanners
