Do you enjoy working with people or helping others? Are you able to work under pressure? Nursing is a career that offers you this environment.
Auxilliary nurses work under the watchful eye of a registered nurse and offer assistance to the professionals on the hospital floor. At the beginning of your working career you will be involved in taking blood pressures and temeperatures, handling samples from laboratory tests, assisting with the changing of dressings on wounds. You will be involved in the washing of patients and ensuring the safety of these patients when walking to and from the bathroom.
As a Nurse you will be: helping others, working with the public, a part of the medical profession, the challenge and variety the work offers. There are many areas of specialisation available.
Drawbacks of this career are that you will need to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, you will be on your feet all day long and you will be expected to deal with rude, demanding patients.
